Galvalume VS Galvanized

The Galvalume process combines a steel base with aluminum, silicon and zinc, in which the steel sheet is hot-dipped in an aluminum and zinc alloy. This combination prevents oxidation and corrosion. The zinc coating also prevents any scratches on the aluminized zinc metal from rusting. Galvanizing consists of carbon steel sheets dipped in molten zinc to create a strong alloy coating that prevents corrosion. Galvanized metal used to be a popular item a few decades ago, but as galvalume has become more popular, it has become harder to find.


Although the production process of galvanized and galvanized is very similar, there are some subtle differences.

Corrosion:
The biggest advantage and advantage of Galvalume over galvanized metal is the addition of aluminum, which is naturally resistant to corrosion.
Although galvanized metal is also corrosion-resistant, it is not as corrosion-resistant as aluminized zinc, and its zinc layer is scratched and prone to red rust.
Use:
In addition to industrial spaces, Galvalume steel is most commonly used for roofs and walls in commercial and residential buildings.
Galvanized metal is used in a variety of similar applications, but is generally more difficult to install.
Usage:
Galvlume is used for outdoor roofing as a metal panel mainly for iron-based protection and is rustproof. Galvalume coating lets it stay protected and is a better resistance in nature in comparison to carbon steel. The composition of aluminum and zinc helps to be protected from the natural calamities.Since zinc is the composition, it is comparatively more oxidized than steel. 
It has its capacity of resistance when exposed to ice, rain, and snow. Galvanized is also used as a roofing sheet, but because of comparatively low performance, it is used mainly in construction and repair centers. It keeps protected from the maintenance and is comparatively less oxidized because it is made of zinc only.  Because of the single metal composition, it is cost-effective.It is effectively prevented from corrosion.
Warranty:
Galvalume steel usually comes with multiple warranties, including paint and a 25-30 year warranty to prevent rust.
One of the biggest drawbacks of galvanized metal roofs is the lack of a substrate warranty because of their unpredictability in specific climates.

While galvalume and galvanized roof systems have similar properties and offer similar uses, there are some subtle differences. Galvanized steel used to be more commonly used in previous decades, but more homeowners have shifted their attention to galvalume roofing.
