Detailed Informations about Galvanized Steel Coil
Galvanized steel is defined as carbon steel sheet coated with zinc on both sides. There are two main processes for producing galvanized steel: continuous hot dipping and electrogalvanizing.
Hot-dip galvanized coils are produced by passing cold-rolled coils through a zinc bath at a temperature of approximately 460 degrees Celsius. The zinc coating on the steel coil substrate acts as a barrier between the atmosphere and the metal surface. In addition, due to its lower chemical potential compared to iron (Fe), it is attacked and dissolved first, providing excellent corrosion resistance (cathodic protection).
